3D Interactive Free Form Deformations for Facial Expressions
نویسندگان
چکیده
Computer simulation of human facial expressions requires an interactive ability to create arbitrary faces and to provide a controlled simulation of expressions on these faces. The system described in this paper presents the interactive facilities for simulating abstract muscle actions using Free Form Deformations (FFD). The particular muscle action is simulated as the displacement of the control points of the control-unit for an FFD defined on a region of interest. One or several simulated muscle actions constitute a Minimum Perceptible Action (MPA), which is defined as the atomic action unit, similar to Action Unit (AU) of the Facial Action Coding System (FACS), to build an expression.

Facial Expression Recognition Based on Anatomical Structure of Human Face
Automatic analysis of human facial expressions is one of the challenging problems in machine vision systems. It has many applications in human-computer interactions such as, social signal processing, social robots, deceit detection, interactive video and behavior monitoring. In this paper, we develop a new method for automatic facial expression recognition based on facial muscle anatomy and hum...
متن کاملAn experimental illustration of 3D facial shape analysis under facial expressions
The main goal of this paper is to illustrate a geometric analysis of 3D facial shapes in presence of varying facial expressions. This approach consists of the following two main steps: (i) Each facial surface is automatically denoised and preprocessed to result in an indexed collection of facial curves. During this step one detects the tip of the nose and defines a surface distance function wit...
متن کاملSynthesis of human facial expressions based on the distribution of elastic force applied by control points
Facial expressions play an essential role in delivering emotions. Thus facial expression synthesis gain interests in many fields such as computer vision and graphics. Facial actions are generated by contraction and relaxation of the muscles innervated by facial nerves. The combination of those muscle motions is numerous. therefore, facial expressions are often person specific. But in general, f...

متن کاملExpression-Invariant 3D Face Recognition
We present a novel 3D face recognition approach based on geometric invariants introduced by Elad and Kimmel. The key idea of the proposed algorithm is a representation of the facial surface, invariant to isometric deformations, such as those resulting from different expressions and postures of the face. The obtained geometric invariants allow mapping 2D facial texture images into special images...
